Oh Grammar, Where Art Thou?

The other day, one of the men that I work with, who is not quite the most intelligent person, mistakenly used the word "escapegoat." I laughed on the inside much harder than on the outside. This ignorant thrashing of the English language was not quite as funny as the instance from last summer. One of the other men I worked with, a Mexican man that had a little bit of trouble with some Englsih words, was trying to explain to me how a company modifies some electrical power meters and continuously told me how this company could "rectal-fit" a meter to operate in different situations. For those that did not catch on, what he meant to say was retrofit. It was utterly hilarious and I almost could not contain my laughter until he left my immediate area. Iam pretty sure I did the "nose-fart" thing when you try hard not to laugh. I did that the other day when my co-worker said "escapegoat" but at least he was not talking to me.
